Mr. Tony Chew was formerly a director of investment banking at BZW/Barclays Capital where he spent more than 10 years and led teams that closed a number of landmark and award-winning transactions and raised funds for various projects totalling in excess of US$10 billion, as well as the managing director for corporate development and acquisitions of a Hong Kong-listed investment company where he was responsible for the evaluation, structuring and investment in various technology related ventures.
Having over 20 years of commercial experience covering investment banking, information technology, venture capital and business/project management, Mr. Tony Chew is an expert in structured finance and project structuring. Mr. Tony Chew has extensive experience in strategic planning and corporate finance as well as many years of business management experience.
Mr. Tony Chew has an honours degree in Economics and Public Administration from the University of London and an MBA from the Manchester Business School. He speaks fluent English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Fujianhua.
Mr. Kong Jam Choo has more than 15 years experience in the IT industry. A technology solutions architect by training, Mr. Kong Jam Choo developed and implemented IT solutions for many multinational and regional corporations including HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Citibank, Hang Seng Bank, Bank of East Asia, MayBank, IBM, Sun Microsystems and many others. He has worked to help to promote web-based solutions in IBM's R&D centres in Waltham, Massachusetts and Washington DC in the U.S., and worked for a number of companies including Alcatel-Alsthom and AEG Automation Systems AG, where he specialized in implementing the SCADA (systems control and data acquisition) system. Prior to joining Y Q Global, Mr. Kong Jam Choo was previously the CTO of a solutions and systems integration company based in Malaysia.
Amongst his many achievements, Mr. Kong Jam Choo is currently the holder of 2 U.S. and European patents based on XML technology relating to electronic payment gateways. He has also spearheaded the IBM global e-commerce solutions architecture as well as e-business solutions on Oracle, IBM DB2 UDB database, XML, XEDI, Identrus and web-based applications.
Mr. Kong Jam Choo is a graduate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He speaks fluent English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Fujianhua and Bahasa Malaysia.
Mr. S Y Lin specializes in the development of special projects in Greater China, from technology companies to utility ventures. S Y was previously the project manager and financial advisor to a number of major projects and companies in Taiwan. He was also a project consultant to Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. on several projects.
Mr. S Y Lin received his BA degree in Business Administration and Political Science from the Chinese Culture University, Taiwan in 1986, and an MBA degree from Hull University, the U.K. in 1990.
Mr. Darren Liang has more than 15 years of sales and marketing experience in Logistics, Telco and IT companies. Prior to joining Y Q Global, he ran an e-Document solutions business, providing services to e-Business and e-Government projects in Taiwan.
Mr. Darren Liang is a graduate of World college of Journalism and has a Bachelor Degree in Public Communications from Shih-Shin University. He speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.
Mr. Emil Wong is an Assistant Vice President of Y Q Global Limited, enjoying himself in the process of gaining first hand entrepreneurial business experience. He has the courage to "opt out of the system" and not to follow the path being laid down for him. He has been growing with our organization since foundation and is currently responsible for, among other things, business development, corporate strategy and partnership development.
He was an Analyst for Corporate Development and Acquisitions of a listed private equity company, which was backed by Hambrecht & Quist Asia Pacific and J.H. Whitney. Prior to this, he was an Equity Research Analyst with a leading financial portal in Hong Kong.
Mr. Emil Wong received his M.B.A. in Finance from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he was awarded Citibank Scholarship and Professor John Espy Scholarship. He also completed post-graduate studies at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in the U.S.A., where he was an international exchange student, and the Harvard Business School, where he obtained a certificate in an Executive Education program in Private Equity and Venture Capital. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Marketing with first class honors from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he earned the Sonca Products Golden Medal Award, given every year to only 10 outstanding graduating students in the university, and received Reuters Foundation Scholarship and American Chamber of Commerce Charitable Foundation Prize Book Award.
Mr. Emil Wong holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is a member of Harvard Club of Hong Kong, University of Chicago Hong Kong Club and Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts. He won the Championship of the University Elite Investor Competition in 1999, a public contest in Hong Kong and was given an internship opportunity at the Investment Division of Manulife Financial in Toronto, Canada. He was a former member of the board and honorary treasurer for the MBA Alumni Association of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
