It extracts data using document-based rules from the print stream in any applications including legacy applications, such as bill information
It creates index by extracting a unique value in the print stream if necessary
It separates large-volume print stream files into individual documents which can be indexed and stored in content management archives for subsequent web presentation

There are three major components in Xenos d2e including:
d2e Developer Studio
d2e Developer Studio provides easy to use tools for beginners and experienced users alike and simplifies the task of creating and maintaining d2e applications using a sophisticated graphical user interface and wizards
Input Parsers
d2e Parsers include PDF parsers, AFP parsers, metacode parsers and TIFF parsers. It processes and converts different formats of input files to Xenos Immediate Format (XIF) for subsequent processing by d2e generators and components
Output Generators
d2e Generators include PDF generators, AFP generators, metacode generators, TIFF generators and web generators. It enables production of output in different formats. PDF generator provides advanced PDF capabilities including vector graphics support, shading, encryption and linearization; TIFF generator produces very high fidelity single- or multi-page TIFF image output; AFP generator produces full MO:DCA-P output; metacode generator enables normalizing, indexing and archiving; and web generator enables generation of HTML output with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
